Stephen Pizzuti Love of Baseball!

Stephen Pizzuti Childhood Days as a Baseball Player

Stephen Pizzuti is a long time baseball lover. As a child, he distinctly remembers sitting down with his father to watch the games of their favorite team: the Los Angeles Dodgers. That was before the days of Mike Piazza, but after the glory days of Jacky Robinson. That weekly ritual in the company of his father instilled in him a love America’s favorite past time.

He started playing as a child and then all through high school. Although he wished he were a pitcher, he turned out a decent first baseman. Not quite MLB material, Stephen didn’t pursue a career in baseball, but stayed in touch with the game over the years. Continuing into his adulthood, he joined local adult leagues and continued to play, until an ankle injury made him no longer able to run the bases or chase after the ball.

Soon after, a friend invited him to join the coaching staff of a local youth baseball team. A few months and several phone calls later, he joined the Snapping Crocs as a first base line coach and a hitting coach. It was the perfect opportunity to stay in touch with the game, while at the same time give back to the community, something that Stephen is a long time believer in. With the same passion he does everything else in life, he gave his all to developing those kids into players. He’s a firm believer that youth sports are not just about winning and losing, or learning how to hit a ball—but also about growing those children into young, purpose-driven men. Team work, discipline, respect for authority and experience, are some of the most important skills to learn for life and they are best learned at an early age.

Stephen was praised for his dedication and skills teaching the children discipline, while keeping the game fun and enjoyable at the same time. He quickly earned a trophy for Assistant Coach of the Year for the local league in the 8-year-old division. He prides himself on giving back to the community as best he can. Not everyone gets the same opportunities as others and Stephen enjoys helping to “level the playing field” for all.
